The Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research (BAIR) Lab brings together UC Berkeley researchers across computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, planning, control, and robotics. To create their latest lab, they tapped our full enterprise: construction, furniture and technology from One Workplace and Vantis.
Leveraging Investment and Innovation
Natural light and views supporting transparency and creativity, a rich, varied color palette and flexible solutions demanded innovative construction, and we provided preconstruction/design assist services (contracted under the architect) and construction services (contracted under the general contractor) including a design permit set and engineering calc package.
Scope of Work:
Offices, labs, workspaces, café area – 1500+ LF of DIRTT full solution, including solid walls with multiple finishes, glazed fronts, custom powder coat paints, integrated DIRTT Power, millwork, COM countertops, and embedded technology.
Scope of Work (cont):
High STC rating requirements for some rooms demanded acoustical performance enhancements from the 12′ walls with ACT ceiling grid, and 8′ rooms enclosed with EPIC deck ceiling on top of a raised floor system.
